Baseball Game Preview: Carolina Academy Trojans vs. Berea Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Carolina Academy will face off against Berea. The Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carolina Academy has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 6.

Carolina Academy lost 17-7 to Berea on Tuesday.

For Berea's part, Caidon Center was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Center was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Berea got a big performance out of Jakob Weaver, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Weaver also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season. Jahiem Middleton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Berea always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

The win snapped Berea's losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-12 record. As for Carolina Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
