Volleyball Recap: White Mountain Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Shaktoolik

White Mountain faced Shaktoolik in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

White Mountain was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Shaktoolik work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 26-24, 18-25, 25-22.

White Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Shaktoolik, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Coincidentally, White Mountain and Shaktoolik will both be playing Koyuk Malimiut the next time they take the court. The Wolves will host the Malemutes at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 8:30 p.m.
