Softball Game Preview: Bluffton Tigers vs. Heritage Patriots

The Bluffton Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Heritage Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bluffton came up short against Norwell on Thursday, falling 17-9.

Tressa Renner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Stout, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Heritage has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.95 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to Jay County.

Bluffton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13. As for Heritage, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-7.

Bluffton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Heritage in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
