Basketball Recap: Holmes County Takes a Loss

Holmes County lost against Blountstown back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Holmes County Blue Devils lost to the Blountstown Tigers on the road by a 58-44 margin. The Blue Devils were down 50-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Blountstown found their leader in sophomore Curtis Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for Ellis. Cyion Smith was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 13 points along with six steals and five boards.

Holmes County now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Blountstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holmes County will host Graceville at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blountstown, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sneads at 6:45 p.m. Blountstown will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
