Volleyball Recap: Conestoga Cougars vs. Raymond Central Mustangs

Conestoga lost against Raymond Central back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Mustangs. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 25-20 in the first set.

Conestoga started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Maggie Fiene and Lorelai Fader, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Grace Rodis and her 18 assists. Mylie Crook controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Raymond Central found their leader in sophomore Julia Schultz, who had 22 digs and two assists. Schultz has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Conestoga's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Raymond Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conestoga will square off against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Raymond Central, they will challenge Aquinas on Tuesday.
