Baseball Game Preview: Seattle Christian Warriors vs. Charles Wright Tarriers

The Seattle Christian Warriors will head out to face off against the Charles Wright Tarriers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Seattle Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Cascade Christian on Friday. They fell 6-1 to the Cougars. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Eli Messer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Seattle Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Scott, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Henry Carpinito also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Charles Wright entered their tilt with Bellevue Christian on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Vikings. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Charles Wright's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Seattle Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Seattle Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Charles Wright in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Tarriers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
