Softball Game Preview: Nipomo Titans vs. Santa Ynez Pirates

The Nipomo Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Santa Ynez Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nipomo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Santa Ynez's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Nipomo played against Morro Bay on Wednesday and won via forfeit.

Santa Ynez fell victim to San Luis Obispo and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 18-0. The Pirates have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Nipomo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Santa Ynez, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Nipomo took their win against Santa Ynez in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 17-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
