Football Game Preview: New Miami Vikings vs. St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans

The New Miami Vikings will challenge the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Miami has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while St. Bernard-Elmwood Place will come in with six straight wins.

On Friday, New Miami took a blow against Purcell Marian, falling 49-8.

Meanwhile, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place got themselves on the board against Gamble Montessori on Friday, but Gamble Montessori never followed suit. They blew past the Gators 42-0. Considering the Titans have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

New Miami better keep an eye on Lucas Cannady. He was instrumental in St. Bernard-Elmwood Place's win, rushing for 131 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 105 yards and one TD on only ten passes. Cannady's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Dameko Taylor, who rushed for 130 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

St. Bernard-Elmwood Place was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 208 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

St. Bernard-Elmwood Place's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by James Hall and Deshawn Hicks, who racked up 7.5 sacks between them.

St. Bernard-Elmwood Place's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for New Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

New Miami took a serious blow against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 77-0. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
