Basketball Recap: Malcolm Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

If Beatrice wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Malcolm, they should've done a better job of containing Carson Frank. The Malcolm Clippers skirted past the Beatrice Orangemen 56-53 thanks in part to Frank, who posted 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Malcolm's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Smith, who scored seven points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Malcolm pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Beatrice, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Malcolm will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Louisville at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Beatrice and North Platte will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Beatrice has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
