Basketball Recap: Bryant Takes a Loss

Bryant was the 76-69 winner over UMS-Wright Prep when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hurricanes took a hard 78-63 fall against the Bulldogs on Thursday. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Bryant lost, don't look at Virgil Dale. Despite the final result, he shot 62% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of JT Esfeller, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points.

Bryant now has a losing record of 1-2. As for UMS-Wright Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bryant will square off against Chickasaw at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they will take on D'Iberville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
