Johnson waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Armijo Royals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

Johnson took Armijo into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 26-28, 27-29, 15-10.

Leading Johnson to victory were Jayden Yang and Luis Montano. Yang had three digs and two aces, while Montano had three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Yang a new career-high in assists (27).

They weren't the only good server: Johnson was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive games.

Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Armijo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Johnson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Florin on the 23rd. As for Armijo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Valley on the 23rd.
