Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Jimtown's Fifth in Last Six Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jimtown had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the LaVille Lancers a 10-0 shutout. The Jimmies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Dalton Cook's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Christman, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Broderic Kaler was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Jimtown is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for LaVille, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Coming up, Jimtown will challenge Knox at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. LaVille does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
