Basketball Recap: Intermountain Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Merit Preparatory Academy last Wednesday, Intermountain Christian came back down to earth. The Intermountain Christian Lions were dealt an 81-32 defeat at the hands of the Draper APA Eagles on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Aaliyah Baldwin was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine assists for Draper APA. Baldwin's evening made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Moctezuma, who went 7 of 15 en route to 17 points and seven assists.

Intermountain Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Draper APA, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Intermountain Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Milford at 11:30 a.m. on January 4, 2025. Draper APA and Cottonwood will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th.
