Basketball Recap: Toledo Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cardinal Stritch last Thursday, Toledo Christian came back down to earth. The Toledo Christian Eagles took a blow against the Fostoria Redmen on Saturday, falling 70-37. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redmen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Alycia Middlebrooks, who posted 26 points along with six boards and five steals for Fostoria. That makes it five consecutive games in which Middlebrooks has scored at least a third of Fostoria's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyrique Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Toledo Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Fostoria, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toledo Christian will take on Lakota in a tournament on Saturday. As for Fostoria, they will face off against Eastwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fostoria has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three games.
