Baseball Recap: Dexter Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jackson, Dexter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Portageville Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Bearcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Trey Pedigo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dexter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Neely, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Justus Lovelady also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Dexter now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Portageville, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Coming up, Dexter will face off against Bernie at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portageville, they will square off against Clarkton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
