            Basketball Recap: South Paulding Spartans vs. Alexander Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            South Paulding lost against Alexander back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The South Paulding Spartans took  a  43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alexander Cougars.
 When it comes to explaining why South Paulding lost, don't look at  Chloe Vandyke. Despite the final result, she  went 8 of 11  en route to 19  points. Vandyke continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played.  Kaylah Middlebrooks also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  block of the season.
 Alexander found their leader in sophomore  Nimah Ibidunni, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 21 points and nine  boards. Ibidunni is  on a roll when it comes to  rebounds, as she's  now  pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's  played.  Isabella Italiano was another key player,  putting up 11  points and five  boards.
South Paulding has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record  this season. As for Alexander, the  win was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
 South Paulding wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  62-35  victory against Douglas County on the 18th. Alexander has also  already played their next game,  a  47-33  win against Chapel Hill on the 18th.
