Basketball Recap: Chicago Mt. Carmel Takes Down De La Salle in a Playoff Battle

Chicago Mt. Carmel extended their postseason success on Wednesday against De La Salle. They came out on top against the De La Salle Meteors by a score of 58-49. The victory continues a trend for the Caravan in their matchups with the Meteors: they've now won six in a row.

Grant Best continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last five games he's played. Noah Mister was another key player, posting 15 points.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 28-5. As for De La Salle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-18 record this season.

Chicago Mt. Carmel will challenge St. Laurence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chicago Mt. Carmel knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully St. Laurence likes a good challenge. De La Salle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
