Waverly Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-63 heartbreaker at the hands of the McEwen Warriors. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Waverly Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for McEwen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waverly Central and Henry County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for McEwen, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Santa Fe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
