Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is Verdugo Hills' Tenth in Last 13 Outings

Verdugo Hills hadn't done well against Poly recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Dons had just enough and edged out the Parrots 3-2. That's two games straight that the Dons have won by just one run.

D'Angelo Duran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

He has become a key player for Verdugo Hills: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 9-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cutlor Gouger-Fannon, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
