Recap: Buena Vista vs. Crete Cardinals
This season hasn't been kind to The Buena Vista , who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of Crete. Buena Vista lost against Crete in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 2-0 score last time.
Leading Crete to victory were Carson Kotil and Oscar Ortiz. Kotil rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, while Ortiz rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Ty Yeager made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Buena Vista's defeat was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.9 points per game. As for Crete, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Buena Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crete will head out on the road to face off against Bennington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bennington is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
