Football Recap: Archbishop Mitty Comes Up Short

Archbishop Mitty suffered their biggest loss since August 29th on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Archbishop Riordan Crusaders and fell 37-7. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

When it comes to explaining why Archbishop Mitty lost, don't look at Lazaro Faraj-Washington. Despite the final result, he rushed for 108 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

Mitchell Jr. is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Kyle Welch also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Archbishop Mitty and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-3 Junipero Serra (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 81.3% over those games). As for Archbishop Riordan, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
