Softball Recap: Apache Junction Comes Up Short

Apache Junction and Coolidge pushed the score to 23-1 the last time they played Coolidge, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Prospectors fell just short of the Bears by a score of 1-0. The Prospectors haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Apache Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Coolidge, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5-2.

Looking ahead, Apache Junction will be playing at home against Florence at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Gophers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.17 runs per game on average), something the Prospectors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Coolidge, they will take on Prescott at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Badgers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
