Preview: Leechburg Blue Devils vs. Aquinas Academy Crusaders
Leechburg is 7-1 against Aquinas Academy since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Leechburg Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aquinas Academy Crusaders at 7:30 p.m.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-21, which was the final score in Leechburg's tilt against Nazareth Prep on Saturday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Tim Skeel, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, even though Propel Andrew Street scored an imposing 73 points on Tuesday, Aquinas Academy still came out on top. Aquinas Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Propel Andrew Street 75-73.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 1-1 season records intact.
Leechburg couldn't quite finish off Aquinas Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 95-92. Thankfully for Leechburg, Vinnie Cugini (who scored 48 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
