Basketball Recap: Bowen Takes a Loss

Bowen lost against Amundsen back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bowen Boilermakers took a 63-44 bruising from the Amundsen Vikings. The Boilermakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amundsen was led to victory by Nour Mohammad and Jackson Tate. Mohammad went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points and six assists, while Tate posted 13 points and five boards. Tate has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Cj Fortier was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Bowen now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Amundsen, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Bowen will be playing in front of their home fans against Amandla Charter School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Amundsen, they will take on Mather at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amundsen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
