Volleyball Recap: Locust Grove Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Locust Grove suffered their biggest defeat since October 15, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Union Grove Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat last Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-15.

Locust Grove's offense was headlined by Heidi Helms and Jorie Young, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Avril Tomme and her 15 assists. Jorja Crawford controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Locust Grove's loss dropped their record down to 17-8-1. As for Union Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-6-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Locust Grove will square off against Fayette County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Union Grove, they will challenge Whitewater at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
