Baseball Recap: Economedes Jaguars vs. La Joya Coyotes
Economedes had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-18 to make it four. They came up short against the La Joya Coyotes, falling 11-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Jaguars haven't been shut out since back in February.

Economedes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Villareal, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Villareal is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
As for La Joya, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.
On La Joya's side, they got a great performance from Hunter Morales as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Ivan Marron was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Samuel De Leon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Economedes will challenge rival Weslaco at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, La Joya is set to take on their familiar foe Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
