Basketball Game Preview: Paramount Pirates vs. Valley Christian Defenders

The Paramount Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Valley Christian Defenders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Paramount is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Savanna on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Paramount had to suffer through a 79-50 loss at the hands of Savanna. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-23.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian humbled Calvary Chapel with a 60-14 victory. That looming 60-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Defenders yet this season.

Paramount has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Valley Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-8.

Paramount skirted past Valley Christian 60-58 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Does Paramount have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valley Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
