Basketball Game Preview: Neumann Celtics vs. Oasis Sharks

The Neumann Celtics will challenge the Oasis Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Neumann came up short against Lemon Bay and fell 39-29. The Celtics have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Oasis posted their closest win since November 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Southwest Florida Christian, sneaking past 47-44. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the King's are ranked 542nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oasis' win came from a few key players Neumann will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brynn Stambaugh, who posted eight points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellye Henkle, who earned ten points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Neumann's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Oasis, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

Everything came up roses for Neumann against Oasis when the teams last played back in January of 2021, as the squad secured a 58-24 win. Will Neumann repeat their success, or does Oasis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
