Soccer Game Preview: Stuarts Draft vs. Riverheads

The Stuarts Draft Cougars will face off against the Riverheads Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Stuarts Draft's offense. They lost 8-0 to Waynesboro on Tuesday. Stuarts Draft haven't had much luck with Waynesboro recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Riverheads was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Stonewall Jackson, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that Riverheads have lost by exactly three goals.

Stuarts Draft now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Riverheads, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Stuarts Draft's way against Riverheads when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Stuarts Draft made off with a 5-0 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Gladiators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
