Soccer Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

After soaring to six goals the game before, Gainesville was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Forest Wildcats. The Hurricanes were probably out for revenge after losing 1-0 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gainesville's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5-1. As for Forest, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gainesville and Santa Fe will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gainesville is facing Santa Fe at the right time seeing as Santa Fe is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Forest will take on Lake Minneola in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
