St. Pauls is 8-2 against Red Springs since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Pauls gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Lumberton. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jaden Parker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. St. Pauls is undefeated when Parker allows one or fewer hits, but 5-10 otherwise. Parker was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaylen Jacobs, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Calien Mcniell, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Red Springs can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Scotland by a score of 7-2.
Like St. Pauls, Red Springs also got a great game from a two-way player: Xzavier Sinclair. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Sinclair has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Terry Locklear was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Red Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
St. Pauls' record now sits at 8-10. As for Red Springs, their record is now 6-12.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Pauls hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Red Springs struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Pauls skirted past Red Springs 7-6 in their previous meeting on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
