Baseball Game Preview: Menomonie Mustangs vs. Eau Claire North Huskies

For the second straight game, Menomonie will face off against Eau Claire North. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Menomonie has three straight victories, Eau Claire North has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Menomonie will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Eau Claire North, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mustangs walked away with a 4-1 win over the Huskies on Tuesday. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Owen Welch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Eau Claire North's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Menomonie, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
