Ayer Shirley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Gardner recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Ayer Shirley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Ayer Shirley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against West Boylston on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-6.

Ayer Shirley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bobby Manchester, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run. Matty Marchand also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gardner duked it out with Maynard on Friday. The Wildcats lost 13-2 to the Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Gardner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Ayer Shirley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Ayer Shirley took their win against Gardner in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
