Basketball Game Preview: Tracy Bulldogs vs. St. Mary's Rams

Tracy is 1-9 against St. Mary since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tracy Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the St. Mary's Rams at 7:30 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-48, which was the final score in Tracy's tilt against Lincoln on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Trojans are ranked seventh).

West typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday St. Mary's proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over the Wolfpack. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tracy better keep an eye on William Weathington. He was instrumental in St. Mary's win, going 6 for 8 en route to 17 points. Weathington is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Vincent Arnaudo, who posted seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Tracy and nudges their season record down to 15-5. As for St. Mary's, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.

Tracy came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Mary's in their previous matchup on January 8th, sneaking past 51-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tracy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
