It was fun while it lasted, but Roosevelt's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Thursday. They fell just short of the South East Jaguars by a score of 3-2. The matchup marked the Rough Riders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Roosevelt was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made South East work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 27-25, 25-23, 27-29, 15-8.

Having lost for the first time this season, Roosevelt fell to 5-1. As for South East, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Roosevelt and South East should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Roosevelt (ranked 61st) will meet Garfield (ranked 638th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, South East will challenge South Gate at 2:30 p.m. on Monday up 354 places (171 vs. 525).
