Volleyball Recap: Perryville Takes a Loss

Perryville suffered their biggest loss since October 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Leopold Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-15.

Lydia Schlimpert paced Perryville's offense, picking up six kills. Schlimpert got some help from Kaeli Klaus and her eight assists. Finally, Schlimpert was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Leopold can attribute much of their success to Malia VanderMierden, who had ten digs and two assists.

The loss snapped Perryville's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Leopold, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Perryville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Ste. Genevieve on the 11th. As for Leopold, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Saxony Lutheran on the 12th.
