Baseball Recap: Gray Stone Day Starts Season with Win on the Road

Gray Stone Day had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets 7-6. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 win the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Daulton McPherson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
