Basketball Recap: Whitewater Whippets vs. Shoreland Lutheran Pacers
Whitewater had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through an 87-43 loss at the hands of the Shoreland Lutheran Pacers. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 21 in a row.
Whitewater lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Marcus Roselle, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Casey Lyon, who had 14 points.
Shoreland Lutheran had a senior duo take command as Owen Hahm shot 67% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and six steals and D'Amirion Mehalic went 11-for-13 on his way to 25 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Barajas, who earned five points along with six assists and three steals.
Shoreland Lutheran has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
