The Woods Cross Wildcats and the Timpview Thunderbirds squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Woods Cross Wildcats had to settle for second. They fell to the Thunderbirds 39-35. Woods Cross found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 14 to 6 on offense.

Woods Cross lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mari Nichols, who scored 14 points. Avery Poulton was another key contributor, scoring two points along with four steals.

Timpview found their leader in underclassman Livia Eyre, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eyre has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiaiaga Galea'i, who scored 11 points.

Woods Cross has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Timpview, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.

Woods Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Timpview, they will challenge Springville at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday. Springville has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-1 during that stretch of close contests.
