Basketball Game Preview: Kankakee Valley Kougars vs. 21st Century Charter Cougars

The Kankakee Valley Kougars will take on the 21st Century Charter Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kankakee Valley is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since January 6, 2024 on Saturday. They took a blow against McCutcheon, falling 78-44. The Kougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

LaVille typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday 21st Century Charter proved too difficult a challenge. They claimed a resounding 75-41 win over the Lancers. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Kankakee Valley better keep an eye on Terrence Hayes. He was instrumental in 21st Century Charter's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. Hayes has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 24 times he's played. Lemetrius Williams was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

21st Century Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

21st Century Charter's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Kankakee Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
