After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside-Brookfield, Hinsdale South was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Proviso East Pirates as they made off with a 34-14 win. The Hornets pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Hinsdale South to victory were Isaiah Burton and Ben Miller. Burton rushed for 112 yards and one score on only ten carries, while Miller threw for 39 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those 112 rushing yards gave Burton a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hinsdale South was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Proviso East only rushed for 55.

Hinsdale South's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Proviso East, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-2.
