Basketball Recap: Dr. Krop Comes Up Short

Dr. Krop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 54-24 loss at the hands of the North Miami Beach Chargers. The Lightning were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Leading North Miami Beach to victory were Serena Volcy and Laila Henderson. Volcy went 10 of 19 on her way to 20 points along with eight boards and five assists, while Henderson dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards. That's the most points Henderson has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Yoshaney Cayaso, who posted six points in addition to 13 rebounds and four steals.

Dr. Krop's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for North Miami Beach, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dr. Krop will face off against Miami Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Miami Beach, they will take on North Miami at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
