Baseball Recap: Greenwood Takes a Loss

Easley hit Greenwood with a eight-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 12-6 to the Green Wave. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Green Wave earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Elliott Lantz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jayden Adams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Triston Lewis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Greenwood has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Easley, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 11-11 record.
