Chestnut Ridge and Hollidaysburg pushed the score to  19-4 the last time they played Hollidaysburg, but  on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-0  win over the Golden Tigers. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the   19-4 victory the Golden Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2024.
Not much got past  Justin Whysong, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up six Ks to keep Hollidaysburg off the board.
 At the plate, Chestnut Ridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Haydan Webb, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  double.
Chestnut Ridge has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Hollidaysburg, they moved to 12-4 with that  defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chestnut Ridge will challenge Forest Hills at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Hollidaysburg, they will face off against Bellwood-Antis at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Golden Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 7.3  runs per game this season.
