Soccer Game Preview: Livermore vs. Granada

The Livermore Cowboys will head out on the road to square off against the Granada Matadors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Livermore's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Livermore fell victim to Monte Vista and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Mustangs are ranked 95th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Granada was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They lost 4-0 to De La Salle. Considering the last time the Matadors couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Granada's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5-1. As for Livermore, they now have a losing record at 7-8-4.
