Baseball Recap: Columbus Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Columbus, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out North Fayette Valley 8-7 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sailors have posted since May 27th.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 5-13-1. As for North Fayette Valley, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Looking ahead, Columbus will be playing in front of their home fans against Oelwein at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Sailors are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for North Fayette Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-0 loss against Waterloo East on the 14th.
