Riverview Sarasota had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 6-11 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the North Port Bobcats 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since March 12th.
Reese Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Brinley Dimon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Febus, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Riverview Sarasota was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Port only posted a batting average of .222.
As for North Port, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 6, 2025.
On North Port's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Laela Rosa gave up just two earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. Rosa has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hailey Perez and Lauren Boff did some serious damage despite the final result: Perez went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Boff went 1-for-2 with one home run. Ciara Perez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota will face off against Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Seminoles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.58 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Port, they will square off against Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
