Baseball Recap: Jefferson's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Jefferson came into Wednesday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen on Wednesday. This was payback for the J-Hawks, who suffered a 14-10 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Tristan Andrews, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Durand/Pecatonica, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coming up, Jefferson will face off against Belvidere North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Durand/Pecatonica, they will head out on the road to square off against Forreston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rivermen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
