Baseball Recap: Wawasee Comes Up Short

Wawasee fell victim to Concord and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minutemen. The defeat leaves the Warriors still looking for their first win of the season.

Finley Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

Wawasee's record now sits at 0-11. As for Concord, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Wawasee and Concord could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 318th) will meet Warsaw (ranked 87th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Concord will take on NorthWood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (213 vs. 83).
