Wayne County and Ware County are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Wayne County Yellow Jackets will take on the Ware County Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne County is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Wayne County's offense. They came up short against Perry on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Panthers are ranked 115th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ware County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past New Hampstead 6-1 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now won nine in a row.

Wayne County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ware County, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Wayne County beat Ware County by a goal when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne County since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
